The Future after Commencement

It's May! That means I only have one full month of university life. The life of reading many assigned books, attending lectures and discussions, and taking exams. The experiences of attending free events of movies, food, or information. The opportunity to live with other students and meet other students any day of the academic year. Although my commencement is next month, I just about have no plans yet. No set day of beginning a career. No traveling planned. No internship assigned.

I've already been asked the frequently asked questions. The popular overly asked questions are "What are you plans after graduation" and "Are you going to graduate school?" The short to all of them is yes I have thought about it. However, I don't even have the full answers yet. As time goes, the questions will be answered, but not now.

It's so hard to believe. I will be moving away from Davis for not just the weekend or months. The move is going to be for years and hopefully not the rest of my life. I won't be able to move out until I have financially dependent unless I want to take more risks right away. It's a huge transition going from university life to working life. It also means that I have to work harder on my job search this month. I've already applied for a few positions and went through one interview.

I know that I don't ever want to stop helping people. I know I won't be a doctor or lawyer, but it doesn't mean that I won't be helping people and that I never did. I want to keep blogging. I been using blogspot for blogging ever since February 2011, but that doesn't mean I started blogging then. I had a xanga ever since 2003 and I updated that very often, but that was mostly mumbo jumbo descriptions of my teenage days. I know that I want to travel, so badly. It's been a dream to travel ever since I was young. As I aged, I added on more locations that I wanted to travel and I still want to go to those places.

Not being prepared for my future scares me, especially since it's an important part of my life. It's my first step towards a career and moving further in my life. It's a step I want to take. I think the most important thing that I know about myself now is that I don't like giving up and I certainly won't give up later on. If I really want something, I will try to make that possible. If I feel that I'm weak in a subject or skill that doesn't prevent me from avoiding it. Instead, I work hard on improving, while allowing criticism. It's that I want to accomplish something, I will do just that.
